Guiding Principles

In undertaking its activities, the FNSA will be guided by the following principles:

	The FNSA recognizes and respects First Nations authority in regard to the control of and jurisdiction for First Nations education and treaty making.
	The FNSA recognizes and respects the efforts of First Nations schools to achieve and maintain culturally relevant, quality education.
	The FNSA supports and will facilitate the development of mutually beneficial relationships amongst First Nations schools and other relevant organizations and governments.
	The FNSA will promote the inclusion of all self-identified First Nations schools, regardless of their designation (including band operated, independent or other schools).
