November 12-13, 2025 or January 19-20, 2026 | Richmond
Please note that this opportunity is for First Nations Parents.
The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) and the First Nations Schools Association (FNSA) are pleased to announce an information sharing opportunity designed for First Nation parents who are interested in joining our workshop for Building our Capacity for Supporting Parent and Family Engagement in Education.
Two in-person sessions will provide an opportunity for parents to work together to build their capacity for family engagement in Education. Participating parents will:
- Learn about and discuss how to effectively use information and materials that have been developed to help families get involved in their children’s education, students do better in school and schools improve when parents and families are engaged.
- Learn from other parents about strategies like creating a positive home environment that celebrates education. We plan to facilitate an engaging and interactive session where your input, as a First Nation parent, is key.
- Supporting language and culture learning at home and what families can do to support this.
