The Skills Link Program (SKILLS.LINK) is part of the First Nations and Inuit Youth Employment Strategy (FNIYES).

The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) and the First Nations Schools Association (FNSA) are pleased to manage Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) 2024-2025 Skills Link Program (SKILLS.LINK) in the BC region for First Nation Communities and Schools.

The Skills Link Program is one of the two programs that ISC administers under the First Nations and Inuit Youth Employment Strategy (FNIYES).

The program’s goals and objectives are:

  • To promote the benefits of education as key to labour market participation
  • To support the development and enhancement of essential employability skills among First Nation youth such as, communication skills, problem solving and working with others
  • •To introduce youth to a variety of career options

Eligibility

All First Nations communities and First Nation Schools in BC region and eligible recipients may enter into agreements with private sector and non-profit sector employers to access employment opportunities for youth.
