The First Nations Schools Association (FNSA) is pleased to invite proposals for workshops to be held at the upcoming 2026 FNSA Conference – Collaborate to Inspire, Empower, and Grow, on April 11-12 in Vancouver. We are seeking workshop applications showcasing practices that will enrich First Nations schools and support student learning. We aim to offer a wide range of workshops for educators, administrators, and other school support staff. A variety of topics are eligible, including but not limited to:

  • First Nations languages and culture;
  • approaches to improving attendance;
  • planning for instruction;
  • achieving learning standards through the use of technology;
  • parent and family engagement strategies;
  • assessment strategies;
  • new approaches to student learning;
  • Supporting the professional growth of school staff;
  • First Peoples curriculum;
  • extra-curricular activities;
  • successful governance/school relationships; and
  • on-the-land learning.

Workshop presentation candidates are asked to consider how the conference theme can be integrated into their presentation. Applications from First Nations schools and communities are strongly encouraged. Recommendations for workshop topics and presenters are also welcome.
