First Nation Schools Fall Professional Development Day
15 August 2025
November 14, 2025 | Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel, Richmond, BC
Positive relationships between educators and students benefit students, families, and First Nation school staff, which is why the First Nations Education Steering Committee and First Nations Schools Association are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for educators working in First Nation schools focused on building relationships with students.
Please join us for a full day workshop on promoting connections with students. The workshop will provide opportunities for First Nation school staff to consider strategies for building student connectedness that might be appropriate for their own circumstances.
The morning session will include an opening plenary with Aimee Beauchamp, followed by an overview of a recently published resource, Building Connections with Students: A Toolkit for First Nation Schools in BC. In the afternoon, a panel comprised of First Nation school staff (K4-Adult) will share their experiences with building relationships with students. The workshop will finish with opportunities for educators with similar roles to connect and share their expertise with each other.
