June 7, 2024
The Westin Wall Centre, Richmond, BC

In-Person and Virtual

The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) and the First Nations Schools Association (FNSA) are pleased to announce an exciting hybrid information-sharing opportunity for principals of First Nation schools. This event is intended for principals who are interested in building their capacity to lead and oversee their Information Technology (IT) systems.

During the session, a new IT Toolkit for First Nation Schools will be shared, which includes information related to:
• IT security
• Data security and management
• Optimizing and maintaining internet networks
• Asset management (including device replacement planning)
• Creating an IT plan

This session will provide an overview of the new Toolkit. It will also provide opportunities for participants to connect with each other and with our IT support staff.
In this event, we will also share information about funding to support IT, including funding in the BCTEA funding formula, as well as new One-Time Information Technology Systems Upgrade Grants for BC First Nation Schools. The event will describe the grant proposal process and will allow for questions and answers about eligible activities and proposal suggestions. Note: information about the grant proposal process will be sent to all schools before the end of April 2024.
